By accessing and using Green City Index (green-city-index.org), you agree to the following terms.
The Service
Green City Index provides satellite-based vegetation monitoring data for European cities. The service includes an interactive map, data visualizations, stories, and downloadable data.
We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates.
Free Access
Free users can access current-year vegetation data for all cities and historical data for the 27 EU capital cities. No account is required for free access.
Pro Subscription
Green City Index Pro costs EUR 30 per year and provides full historical data access for all cities.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each year
- You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds are issued for partial subscription periods
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
Data License
All data outputs from Green City Index (statistics, maps, visualizations) are licensed under CC BY 4.0. You are free to share and adapt the data for any purpose, including commercial use, with attribution:
The underlying satellite imagery comes from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission, operated by ESA on behalf of the European Commission. City boundaries are from GADM 4.1 (CC BY 4.0). City data is from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download data beyond normal browsing
- Attempt to circumvent access controls or authentication
- Redistribute Pro-only data without an active subscription
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
Disclaimers
The vegetation data is derived from satellite imagery and subject to the limitations described on the About page. Data is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose.
Green City Index is not liable for any decisions made based on the data provided. The service is intended for informational and research purposes.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
